Steve Hanon is a map and history enthusiast with cartographic interests spanning The Age of Discovery; Maps of Spain; Colonial and Revolutionary War era American maps; early New York City development; and data visualizations. He is the president of The New York Map Society and a member of the Phillip Lee Phillips Society at The Library of Congress; International Map Collector's Society (IMCoS) National Representative; and a Fellow of The Royal Geographical Society in London, which comes with post-nominal designation FRGS). Steve enjoys hiking, exploring new territories, and spending time with his family (and maps). Steve is always looking for ways to engage with antique maps and new technologies to understand our history and its connection to the present and future.
